Okan wood
The royal Okan tree is a lesser known exotic hardwood tree from central Africa. The wood is known for its durability and strength. The sapwood of this tree is yellowish brown, darkening to reddish brown with a yellowish tinge.
The heartwood is very durable and shows excellent natural resistance to wood decay fungi, making it excellent for flutemaking. Its voice character is warm and joyful and works very well for all keys.
