Native American flutes are commonly tuned to play one single scale, most often the Minor pentatonic. Prana flutes have professional concert tuning, meaning they will play the Minor pentatonic scale perfectly in tune, and extended with a full chromatic scale.
This chromatic scale creates many extra notes by cross-finger combinations so you can play numerous varieties of different scales, each with a unique feeling. Some of the possibilities are:
Minor pentatonic scale
Major diatonic scale
Arabian (Hijaz) scale
Blues scale
Aeolian scale
Miyako Bushi
Spanish Gypsy
